SHOPPING - Supermarkets: The nearest supermarket is in South Molton (6 mls) Somerfields. Into town first left on the left. Tiverton (11 mls) has a huge Safeway. Right off A361 and first right at next roundabout on the left. Tesco in Tiverton town centre.

SHOPPING - General: South Molton is a small market town with a variety of shops. Its name to fame is Mole Valley Farmers. Here is a farmers co-operative selling everything from a lump of cheese to a combine harvester. Of interest to the girls is a large selection of outdoor wear and clothing all at very inexpensive prices. This is a must visit for all our customers. Antique shops and bric brac shops are dotted all over the town ideal if you like browsing bits and pieces from a bygone age. Two fish and chip shops a small modern swimming pool and late shopping at Spa and South Street Stores. Barnstaple (22 mls) is the commercial centre of N Devon with excellent shopping including all the well-known brand names and a big Tesco. Sophisticated speciality shops sit comfortably in the many alleys and lanes with coffee shops bars and bistros. A modern shopping precinct "Green Lanes" is all under cover. Combine a visit to Clovelly and the Big Sheep with a trip to the Atlantic Village shopping centre outside Bideford and off the A361. Here top brand names are sold at discount prices in a modern undercover centre. The Cathedral City of Exeter (27 mls) is within easy reach.

LEISURE CENTRES. Bamstaple has a very large leisure centre with all sports catered for. The swimming pool is ideal for families. The centre is run by the Local Council and all entrance fees are very reasonable. Why not shop then swim? Croyde has a private indoor leisure centre called Cascades With swimming a flume a whirlpool and rapids.

THEATRES. Bamstaple has the Queens Theatre with shows orientated towards holidaymakers throughout the season. llfracombe has a very modern theatre on the sea front. Exeter is home to the Northcott Theatre situated in the grounds of the University.

HORSERIDING. There are 15 establishments that cater for riders all within driving distance. Our local stables is West Anstey Farm Stables about 5 miles away. Here they cater for all ages and all levels of experience. They ride straight out onto Exmoor. Tel 01398 341354.

BEACHES. North Devon beaches are renown for the miles of sandy safe bathing. All are within 45 minutes drive. Westward Ho, Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and lifracombe.

CYCLES. Many places in Barnstaple and Bideford hire out cycles for families to enjoy a flat safe easy ride along the Tarka Trail that goes from Braunton Barns Fremington Yelland Bideford and on up the Torridge valley the home of Tarka the Otter.

GOLF. There are 10 golf courses all within striking distance: Royal North Devon Westward Ho, Saunton, Torrington, Tiverton, Ilfracombe, Mortehoe and Woolacombe, Chulmleigh, Hartland Forest Libbaton near Torrington.
